2022年5月14日，加拿大在其官方公報上發布了擬議的《禁止特定有毒物質法規2022》。75天的公眾咨詢已經開始，并將于 2022 年 7 月 28 日結束。
擬議法規在最終法規生效之日起將廢除并取代《禁止特定有毒物質法規2012》（現行法規）。
擬議法規新增加了對得克隆DP(Dechlorane Plus)和十溴二苯乙烷DBDPE(Decabromodiphenyl ethane)以及含有這些物質的產品的制造、使用、銷售和進口實施限制。
擬議議法規還通過取消某些豁免或限制現行法規允許活動的方式進一步限制全氟辛烷磺酸PFOS、全氟辛酸PFOA、長鏈全氟羧酸LC-PFCAs、六溴環十二烷HBCD和多溴二苯醚PBDEs以及含有這些物質的產品的制造、使用、銷售和進口。此外，擬議法規還包括了這些物質的濃度閾值；如果物質存在于或低于此閾值時，這些物質的存在將被認為是偶然存在，禁令將不適用。
